Tropical Spice Plantation
A place where one would know all about spices and see them growing – Tropical Spice Plantation is a large tract of land where nature’s bounty can be seen at its best – with spices as black pepper, cardamom, nutmeg, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, chillies, coriander are grown the organic way. The place treasures the famous ‘All Spices’ plant, which gives out the aroma and taste of five spices. There are trees such as Cashew, Areca nut (Betel nut) palm trees and fruits like star fruit, jack fruit, custard apple, bananas, papayas, pineapple, and more, which are a delight to look at, where you can even catch the monkeys frolicking on the trees or get a sneak peek of the birds.
The place is also called a mini sanctuary – contributing to the conservation of wildlife, as around 25 species of birds are sighted here. Birds such as Birds of Paradise, Cuckoos, Koel, Cousals, Owls, Maina, Hornbills, Pitters, Parakeets can be spotted chirping away merrily. There is a lake where tourists can be taken around to catch the closest possible glimpse of the birds. The place is also known for the sumptuous Goan food it serves the traditional way.
